The Different Types of Fillers

Posted on March 20, 2020 under Facial Procedures, Non-Invasive

When looking for a minimally-invasive cosmetic rejuvenation treatment, there are a few options based on your needs and area of treatment. Dr. Basile offers a range of injectable dermal fillers for patients wishing for a refreshed appearance.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Fillers are used to fill in areas that you want to plump up and smooth out. Most newer fillers are hyaluronic-based which allows them to give long-lasting, natural results.

Areas of the Face That Can Be Treated

Cheeks

As we age, the cheeks are an area of concern, as they tend to lose volume.

Juvéderm® Voluma is great for this area of the face and lasts a relatively long time, up to two years. This filler can significantly plump up the cheeks.

Nasolabial Folds

This area of the face extends from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth. The majority of fillers are FDA-approved for the nasolabial folds.

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a viable option for deeper nasolabial folds. This filler has remarkable longevity and is very moldable. It can be massaged at the time of injection to reduce any potential lumps. Juvéderm Ultra Plus can be used in many parts of the face, but it is not recommended under the eye area.

Lips

Lips are extremely popular to inject. There are a wide variety of fillers available for the lips.

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus gives a considerable plumping effect. This powerful lifter offers more dramatic results. Juvéderm® Volbella is a softer filler for the lips.

Fine Lines

This area around the mouth can be difficult to treat.

Juvéderm® Volbella works well in this area, as it is a gentle filler that can address those hard-to-reach lines.

All dermal fillers last for various lengths of time. On average it is between 6 to 18 months. You can receive repeat treatments to maintain your results from the filler.
