What is SKINVIVE?
SKINVIVE by Juvéderm® is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable in the US to improve smoothness in the cheeks, leaving you looking glowy, hydrated, and refreshed. This innovative injectable treatment is formulated to improve skin resiliency, elasticity, and quality while also smoothing the skin and restoring a youthful glow. We often refer to it as ‘injectable hydration’ when explaining it to patients.
Who is a Candidate for SKINVIVE?
Healthy individuals over the age of 21 who wish to improve skin smoothness in the cheek area can often benefit from SKINVIVE treatment. However, if you are pregnant or nursing, have an active skin infection, a history of excessive scarring, multiple severe allergies, or pigmentation disorders, we may recommend an alternative treatment or recommend that you wait to receive this treatment.
Also, be sure to let us know if you are planning on undergoing a chemical peel, laser treatment, or another procedure after your SKINVIVE treatment, as there is a possible risk of inflammatory reaction at the treatment site.
How is SKINVIVE Treatment Performed?
SKINVIVE is skillfully injected into the designated treatment areas. Over the next couple of days after treatment, the microdroplets of HA will soften and smooth the skin, leaving you glowing. Treatment is quick, taking only about 15-20 minutes to complete.
Results and Recovery
Following your SKINVIVE treatment, results may be immediately noticeable and will continue to improve over the next three to six weeks. Mild redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and itching may occur at the injection site. However, these effects should resolve within seven days.
We advise that you minimize strenuous activity and exercise, exposure to heat, and alcoholic beverages for the first 24 hours after treatment for optimal results.
Results can last through six months. To maintain results, we recommend that patients receive treatment every six months.
