Karen Roop, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Karen is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background spanning pulmonary critical care, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and aesthetic medicine. She has also served as a clinical director for a laboratory sales company, but her true passion remains caring for patients and empowering them through education.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Karen worked as a registered nurse for eight years in intensive care and emergency settings, including The Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX; a community hospital in Naples, FL; and Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where she worked in both the surgical ICU and emergency department. Her critical care and emergency medicine experience has cultivated a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to patient care, while her pediatric experience has strengthened her adaptability, compassion, and commitment to individualized care.
Karen has been married to her high school sweetheart for nearly 20 years and is the proud mother of two school-aged children. She enjoys supporting her children at sporting events and ballet performances and volunteers at their school, church, and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of work and family activities, Karen stays active through Pure Barre, running, and neighborhood walks with weights. She also enjoys relaxing with a good read – either historical fiction or Southern Living magazine – ideally, at the beach or pool.
A lifelong sports fan, Karen loves cheering on her alma mater, the Iowa Hawkeyes, as well as the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars.
At Basile Plastic Surgery & Wellness, Karen combines her clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate, natural approach to create personalized treatment plans designed to help each patient achieve their aesthetic goals and beautiful, natural-looking results!
