Is CoolSculpting Better Than Liposuction?

Posted on June 19, 2019 under Plastic Surgery

If you’re looking for effective body contouring, then CoolSculpting and liposuction are two of the best options available. It’s common to wonder which of the two is the better option— after all, we all want the best results with the best treatment. The answer can come with a lot of different factors, though, and can even be different for each patient. Rather than come to an objective answer, we prefer to recommend the right option for you based on what’s most important to you and what results you’re hoping for. Here are some things to consider as you look at your options.

Surgical vs. Non-Surgical

For a lot of patients, the need for surgery can be daunting when it comes to achieving the results they want. You’re not alone if you’re prefer to avoid the incisions and minimally-invasive techniques that come with liposuction. CoolSculpting requires no incisions or anesthesia, and many patients can even relax and catch up on their show during the treatment session. Fortunately, whether you’re willing to undergo surgery or not, you’ve got two effective options.

Downtime vs. No Downtime

Although lesser than many other surgical procedures, liposuction requires some downtime. Most patients experience some minor discomfort and are required to follow some aftercare steps to make sure things go smoothly. However, you’ll be able to return to work within a few days, depending on your job. While some patients are okay with downtime, others simply can’t fit it into their schedule or would prefer to avoid it. In this case, CoolSculpting can be a much less time-heavy investment.

Transformative Results vs. Gradual Results

This is perhaps the most important factor to consider. Although CoolSculpting is an excellent option and can produce some great results, liposuction is still a popular choice for its immediate, transformative results. Liposuction patients can see results in a matter of weeks rather than months, as is the case with CoolSculpting. For some patients, this is a deciding factor. However, other patients merely enjoy seeing the results from their exercise regimen boosted by regular CoolSculpting treatments. Each patient is different, but in both cases your results will be long-term.
